Compassionate Care Partners
After supporting the local community for the past 31 years as Friends of Hospice, we elected to rebrand as Compassionate Care Partners to better align with our mission and organizational growth.
Our new name embraces the care ethos that we opted to select, The Eden Alternative, which revolves around the concept of person- directed care that supports the whole person, upholds their right to a life full of purpose, connection, empowerment, and possibility… regardless of age or changing abilities.
Although we will be offering a broader range of services, our dedication to supporting and developing palliative care in Bermuda is unwavering.
Friends of Hospice was established in May 1994 as a non-profit organization whose mandate is to support Bermuda’s only hospice Agape House by fundraising, providing therapeutic and practical help, emotional support programmes, and volunteer services.
We are located at Agape House in a peaceful setting in Paget, surrounded by beautiful gardens, and adjacent to the Kind Edward VII Memorial Hospital. Our family-centered approach creates a comforting, dignified environment for our patients, day programme participants, visitors, loved ones and friends.
The Friends of Hospice team works in collaboration with a medical team of palliative care specialists from the Bermuda Hospitals Board who care for the patients at Agape House, while we at Friends of Hospice provide many complementary therapies and support services.
Friends of Hospice is governed by a professional Board of Directors and supported by hundreds of committed volunteers. Together, we are focused on enhancing the quality of life for the patients at Agape House, their family, friends and loved ones, and our Connections programme participants.
